Last week was the Inman connect in NYC. I totally missed it this year. I've been way too busy with buyers and sellers showing properties and negotiating offers. Since the first day of the year, it has been non-stop.

So while I missed the conference this year, I have just been to it vicariously through Chris Smith viewing the Queue Tech Savvy Agent. Chris did a great review of The Corcoran Group my real estate brokerage.

(Corcoran review is at 7 minutes into the program.)

Chris said to think of The Corcoran Group as the Virgin Airlines of the real estate industry. He said brand matters more than ever and The Corcoran Group "Gets It" He said Corcoran is an absolutely amazing brand in New York City in Manhattan. I knew that. LOL.

    Interesting. 

    We are going through big, big changes right now because of Real Living / GMAC merger, new websites,  lots of changes... two cultures colliding (maybe way, way more than two cultures.)   All I know is Central Ohio, of course as agents we are frustrated by what does not work, what we have to learn.

    I would hate to know now what that  blank would be filled with but  "Think of Real Living as the _________ of the real estate industry" now.  

    I don't want to say the people I work with day to day don't get it but the fear of sharing that is voiced as part of the frustration amazes me.

    I am going to send the video to a local RE friend who idolizes Barbara Corcoran.

    edit  Went back to watch Chris.  The link was NOT there when I first read your post.  I appreciate "(Corcoran review is at 7 minutes into the program.) I think Chris is great but I can not do 16 minutes of his voice, delivery.  I got just enough from 7 minutes to about 9. something or other.

    Hi Maureen, Barbara was a technology pioneer and innovator. She sold the company to NRT (division of Reology) several years ago. The culture is a little more corporate but her presence is still felt. Our CEO Pam Liebman was a protege of Barbara. She sold new developments. She is a great leader too. Fortunately the company has gone to the next level and has really embraced transparency, new technology and social media.

    I tried to start Chris's YouTube video at 7 minutes but couldn't figure out how to do it.

    Mitchell.  Brand is very important and in NYC Cororan certainly impacts the market place ..Video marketing also along with branding is a perfect combination
