Thriving and Growing Community Lake Killarney Cary Illinois

A number of smaller, neighboring communities make up the Village of Cary.  Lake Killarney, Oakwood Hills and Trout Valley are just a few of these neighboring communities. The Fox River runs through Cary and a number of other cities in McHenry County.  The Metra train station remains the hub of the downtown area of Cary with many residents commuting daily to Chicago. The neighborhood airport is located in the nearby community of Lake in the Hills, with the Chicago O'Hare airport about 30 to 45 minutes away.   

Trout Valley was originally the site of a horse breeding farm owned by John Hertz, founder of Yellow Cab Company and Hertz Rent A Car back in 1920. Today, The Village of Trout Valley now has their own homeowners association.

The Village of Oakwood Hills, another neighborhood community in Cary, has its own lake, Silver Lake, used by their residents and guests and has their own association as well. Beach rights and passes must be obtained every year before gaining accessing to their beaches. Non-residents living nearby can receive beach passes as well if specific pass fees are paid every year. Lake Killarney, another neighborhood community of Cary's, has its own lake as well. Lake Killarney connects to Silver Lake through a small creek/stream that flows behind a number of homes located between one point and the other. Lake Killarney, as well as Silver Lake in Oakwood Hills, has their own water and beach rights operated through their own homeowners association.

McHenry County Community College is just a drive away from the Cary area and is located between Crystal Lake and Woodstock on Route 14 (Northwest Highway).  Local hospitals, neighborhood parks, bike trails, senior community centers and a number of pre-school centers provide activities for all ages. Downtown Cary has retail shops and independent businesses, the local Metra train station that takes you all the way into downtown Chicago, a watch repair shop, and some very popular restaurants and bars.

Major shopping malls are in near proximity to Cary and Lake Killarney. All within 30 minutes from Cary, you could find yourself at the Prime Outlet Mall in Huntleythe Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee, Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Algonquin Commons in Algonquin and Deer Park Town Center in Deer Park ... all within the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
