Most people think of NorthPark Center as the premier shopping mall in Dallas. Located at the intersection of Northwest Highway and Interstate 75, this Center has more than 200 stores and restaurants. Department stores include Macy's, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Dillard's, and Barneys New York. Among the newest stores are H & M Preview and Henri Bendel.
North Park Center is more than a shopping mall. It is an entertainment center and a venue for special events. Many would argue that the AMC Theatres are the best in Dallas. The Center is host to a myriad of events throughout the year. 2010 events included, the Parade of Playhouses, NorthPark Auto Show, The Trains at NorthPark, Dallas Film Society Screenings at the theaters, a performance by the Dallas Opera, Gingertown Dallas, and performances by the Turtle Creek Chorale, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and countless other groups who performed for mall visitors.
One could begin their day with a brisk walk around the mall, have breakfast, shop, lunch at one of the delicious restaurants (La Duni is one of my favorites), take in a movie, enjoy the display of fine art, have a gourmet dinner and return home or to a hotel. That sounds like a perfect day to me!
Upcoming events at NorthPark Center, include the following:
January 26, 2011 - "Mister Mark, get Set Go," for pre-school children
January 29, 2011 - Russian Folk Music, by The Kalinka Duo
For more information visit NorthPark Center's website.
I hope to see you there!
