Laramie, Wyoming.  We have some culture, really - we do!  The challenge of this  just for fun series . . .

 Can You Find It ?!

If you haven't been to or live in Laramie, Wyoming, it won't be easy to do the "Can You Find It?" part of this challenge.  However, I hope that far away visitors can still enjoy the pictures!

Sculpture #3

The artist welded chrome plated steel to make this fun piece.  I'm not positive but it looks to me like bits and pieces of the old kind of bumpers that we used to have on cars and trucks!  Cool, huh?!

(This series was inspired by Sculpture, A Wyoming Invitational.  www.uwartmuseum.blogspot.com )

I love the aligator out of bumpers. pretty cool.  Can you explain what the "can you find it?" thing is?  Let me guess, is it a scavenger hunt?  final answer

Hi Brenda - You would not expect to see a chrome alligator in your neck of the woods.  Wonder if that comes with a boom box and those big rims?  Some is very cleaver with their use of scrap bumpers.  Thanks for the blog.

Brenda,  I am so excited -- at last I know the answer to one of your challenges.  It is an "Alligator."  The sculpture by John Kearney was installed at the City Hall Annex at 4th and Grand.

Hi Christina,  You're right, just sort of a fun little thing for anyone around here who finds my blog - which is one of the reasons for writing it - to gain a local audience...

Steve - I like it too, because it is non-traditional and unexpected for a "western" town.

Yay, Gary!  You have a VERY good memory!  And you even knew the name of the "City Hall Annex" - I'm impressed!

Thanks, Connie!  I think he is fun and whimsical, too!  Sometimes a person needs a little of the unexpected.

I think I like the alligator best of your series. Jackson has quite a bit of sculpture around town as well, but most of it is way too serious!

Hi Joyce - It is pretty cool - so non-traditional for the area!

Hi Tim- I would imagine Jackson to have quite a bit of sculpture around with the most obvious being the antler arches in the town square....
