I have been spending time this weekend learning how to use Windows Movie Maker. The world of videos has been one of the areas of social media and the internet that I had a lot of personal back off on.
I decided a few months ago to confront it, and just do it. I called a good client of mine after I sold her a second house, and asked her if she would be willing to do a personal interview on how it was like to work with me as her Realtor.
I thought it would be a good way to get started with a video, being that it was a client testimonial. We met, and I had her sign releases on the video which allowed me to use it for marketing purposes, etc. I had some help from a friend who was more knowledgeable about video cameras than me and he conducted the interview. The sound quality was poor, as we did not have a clip on microphone for her, but you can still hear it.
Needless to say, even after we shot this interview in November, I still procrastinated on confronting the video editing. Finally this past weekend, I made myself block out a whole afternoon to doing just that. I started by watching some very easy tutorials on YouTube, here is the first one I watched if you are interested in getting started yourself.
After a little bit of struggle, I managed to put together this client interview video as well as another of a new listing I have here in Battle Creek (which I will probably include in another blog post later). When you watch this one, please be kind. It is my first attempt in the medium. I have now more confidence that I can take on larger projects, and expand on my own YouTube Channel. I hope you like it.
