Mr. and Mrs. Seller – Do you really want to sell your home?
Undoubtedly, your answer would be yes. You listed your home with a qualified broker. You put a For Sale sign in your front yard. Your home is listed in the MLS. Your home is being advertised all over cyberspace. You keep your home tidy and neat. You leave for showings.
Unfortunately, you forgot one important thing. To clean your driveway and front walk of snow. It is winter. There is snow on the ground. Not just an inch or so but 10-12 inches. The snow is not only in your yard but on your driveway and front walk, all the way to your front door. The ironic thing is that you even asked us to remove our shoes or use shoe covers once we finally slogged through the snow to your front door.
Luckily for you, we had buyers with us who are ready to write a contract when they find the right home. Had they not been motivated buyers, we would have kept on driving and not even made the effort to slip and slide through the snow and get thoroughly wet and frozen to see your home. There are so many homes on the market, we didn’t have to see your home to find one that will work for our buyers.
In this kind of market, in the middle of winter, in a buyers market, are you really willing to risk not selling your home over the inconvenience or cost of clearing your driveway and walkways of snow? I can’t imagine you do. It only takes one buyer to sell your home. Is the showing you miss THE ONE?
