Welcome to Ralph's Weekly Feature: Two Truths and a Lie: Guess Which One Is The Lie?

Kym TarrEach week, I'm going to feature one Active Rain Member, with their photo, and what they are going to do is tell you 2 Truths about them and 1 Lie.

The object of the game is to guess which of the 3 bits of trivia about them is a lie!

I will post the answer in that same blog at the end of the week on Fridays so you can all find out!

It's a great way to get to know your fellow Active Rain members and staff.

This week, we will be featuring: Kym Tarr

Kym is with ShoeString Home Staging Inc. based out of Kelowna, BC, and currently holds the designation of Professional Real Estate Stager, Certified Redesign & Staging Specialist as well as Qualified Colour Consultant & Interior Decorator. I also am Home Staging Instructor for PRES.

One of the reasons why I chose staging as a profession is the many benefits I can to bring you, the average home owner. I am passionate about what I do and provide my clients with a refreshing, down-to-earth approach when creating fabulous spaces filled with beauty and functionality for them.

OK, Here goes:

I won a brand new Toyota Truck in a radio station contest .

I was a Latin Ballroom Dance Champion.

My mother was in a James Bond Movie.

OK, gang. Tell me which one is the lie!

Remember, for those members who guess the most amount of correct lies at the end of the month, you will be awarded 1,500 Bonus Points! If there is a tie, each member who ties will be awarded 1,000 Bonus Points!

(Also, for those of you who would like to be featured, let me know, send me your 2 Truths And a Lie without telling me which is the lie and I will put you on the list - remember! make them good ones!)

OK, "The Spy who loved me" was filmed partly at Baffin Island and Auyuittuq National Park in Canada.

Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_James_Bond_film_locations

There is no other Canadian location listed.

Kelowna is on the west side of Canada,  Auyuittuq National Park is on the East side, far north, on the Greenland side, and Baffin Bay is the water between Greenland and Canada, nowhere near Kelowna!  Baffin and the Auyuittuq (how do you pronounce this?) National Park are very far north, I have no idea if anyone actually "lives" there.

Yes, there is a Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio in Kelowna   but then Kym knows that we can find so this could be the lie, or she could have been the Ballroom Dance Champion, but Kym looks more fiery than someone who dances the waltz!!!!

This is a tough one!  At least I didn't forget to vote.  I am throwing out a guess of #2

I'm actually at the point of trying to go along with the crowd, so bad at these. I'm guessing #2 for this one. Seems the easiest to achieve. That's some solid logic for you.

Its all in the details!

okay... guys... here comes the truth and the lie:

#1  In 1982 I did win a Toyota Extra Cab Long Box Truck from a Calgary Alberta Canada radio station.  We had to pick a key out of a fish bowl and if the key fit the door of the vehicle.. YOU WON... well I did just that.  Truck was a little small for my growing family so we sold it shortly there after.  I do have a newspaper clipping that I have been searching for  but cannot seem to find it.

#2  Both myself and my husband were involved in Ballroom dancing for many years.  It  started out as just something to do on a Friday night.  We got involved in local competitions and frequently won  but the only medal we won was a Certificate of Merit for  Social Dancing our medal was presented by  Two Inter National Latin Dance Champions

#3  As for my mother being in a James Bond movie.. yes she was in From Russia with Love... she is sitting on a bench in a train station sitting next to a gentleman.  if you watch the  beginning of the movie at 0.38 you can see her , she is wearing a hat... hee hee

So to all my fine friends that played Number 2 is the LIE!  Can't wait for next week!

Well, DeeDee it looks as if we missed!!  This was a tough one.  Good for Kym, she came up with three good ones.  And, Christine, yes I don't know why I wrote 2, I found the site you found, and it was only one film partially filmed in Canada.  I also found a site that listed every actor, in every movie, except for the extras, and Kym was MIA; I didn't need to know if her mother was working under a different name. I did get the film right, as I looked up all the women characters in To Russia with Love as I suspected, Kym's Mom did not need to be in a movie necessarily filmed in Canada.   That's how I figured out #3, if true, her mother had to be an extra.  I'll have to settle for 3 out of 4 right this month. My hunch was wrong this week as I predicted. Should have went with my gut.   I hope that puts me into contention for earning some points. :) :)  There were about a 1/2 who guessed right, good for you all. Can't wait to see the next one.  Great job, Kym. :) Gail

Wow, 7 is my lucky number... I'm on of those 7...wonder if there is only one who got 4 out of 4. Hope your job is easier this month, Praful, even though that means no points for me this month! ;)

@Gail, since I started playing this game, there always have been more than one winner - so this will be a great achievement for you.

For me, it was a busy Saturday, so I will go over the comments and will send Ralph the final tally later today.

@DeeDee, you are right. Ralph has posted the winner of January.

@Gail, @Cindy, @Dee Dee, @Dee, @Glenn, @Juli, you worked very hard (or I'd say, guessed very intelligently) so far this month, I feel sad - all of you had first three right. (Last month I had only two correct guesses and I was lucky to be a winner!)

Good Luck to all of you for February contest. (And this is indeed, a contest - you have to be the best to earn the points.)
