Real Estate really is my thing!

It's true that I live in Draper and my Real Estate experience has been mainly focused in Salt Lake County. This weekend I had the opportunity to leave my home in Draper, Utah and travel with my family South about 300 miles to St. George a community in Southern Utah sitting at 2800 ft above sea level. Salt Lake City is 4200 or 4300 ft. I went for fun and relaxation. Hiking and exploring the red rock country in Utah has always been a passion and I love watching my children develope the same enthusiam. I also got to thinking about how mild the winters are and what a quick trip on interstate 15 from SLC this winter paradise is. How fun would it be to own a home down here? By day two I had mentioned this to my wife. She offers these words of encouragement, "Maybe we could sell our home in Draper and Downsize, then we could think about possibly a second home ".  Think about? My mind was spinning and from then on I traveled side roads and visited single family homes in subdivisions call Entrada, The Springs, and Kolob Ranches. I looked at several Bank Owned homes and lots. Somewhere along the way I really started dreaming big. I stopped at and talked to a for sale by owner along Diamond Rd near Snow Canyon State Park. This fabulous 12 acre horse property is in the middle of construction of a huge indoor riding arena. I introduced myself as a Realtor and said I was not interested in the listing but I would like to know more about the property. She was eager to show me around and point out all the lovely details of this home. The afternoon was spent driving neighborhoods of new adobe looking Haciendas. I love the Southwest Style with log and stucco that matches the natural habitat. Big windows and a solar power set up would be ideal. I also saw several homes with small wind turbines. The thought of going green is so appealing to me and I can think of no better area than Southern Utah to take advantage of our solar resources. The suns always shining and sometimes it howls. Anyways, I started this with a point. All this driving around looking at Real Estate and calling phone numbers from the signs that marked the listing reminded me of one thing, I would rather get a warm voice than some annoying 800 hundred number any time of day. Is it just because I'm a Realtor and I love to talk Real Estate? I have always felt this way. When I want to know something about a property for sale, I want to talk to someone who knows about the home and can answer my questions. I never left a message. I am amazed at how many signs had a phone # that went to voicemail. Our team tries desperately to answer all calls. We want to talk to you about our listings and the homes for sale that we represent. While I am a licensed Real Estate agent in Utah and I was probably just dreaming a bit. There are buyer's out there doing just like I was and probably wishing someone would answer the phone. You never know when that might be your call. I did have a wonderful weekend.  I send out a big Thank-you to my wife and kids for putting up with a man who can't get enough Real Estate. I have attached some pictures of our hike and encourage you to visit sunny St. George and Southern Utah.
