Is the cold weather affecting your Real Estate business

As of 10am the temperature was up to -1 degrees. Not a great way to start a week however it is Monday and business needs to keep moving forward. I had a unique call a half hour ago as a buyer asked if we would be postponing our closing due to the cold today? Puzzled as could be as there is no snow, roads are clear and cold weather afterall, is part of winter in New England. Although the news presents it as a major news story, throw on the winter coat, sacrafice fashion for warmth and head into the great outdoors, well at least the short walk down the sidewalk to the car that has been warming up for 20 minutes.

On this Monday people are moving as slow as my Active Rain page again... Is your AR as slow as mine?

So back to my closing, we worked so hard to get this to close and the buyer wants to postpone??? After a short conversation , i forgot they were from NH, moved to Florida and are now back, i think they forget that cold is not the same as a blizzard and the seller would not be so happy if we postponed the closing as well as the additional costs they would incur. I offered to pick them up as my car is all warmed up but they declined.

With the coldest air in years a modest inconvenience, it is much better than the 3 feet of snow that has fallen in the last couple of weeks, but never fear, it will warm again in the next couple of days in time for our next snow storm, so as the sun shines without any warmth, i go forward wishing for a great week. 35 days to March and counting.....

Have a great week all....
