USDA loans are amazing mortgages. You can qualify for 0% down payment and no mortgage insurance. When applying for a USDA loan you must be approved for the mortgage. And the home you are interested in must qualify for the program, also. The home must be in a Rural area and approved by the United States Dept of Agriculture- Rural Development. To find out if the home qualifies go to USDA. Click on "single family housing". Then input the address and the website will tell you if it does or does not qualify for the program. When applying for a mortgage make sure you know all of your options. A USDA loan may be the best option for you. Call me today with any questions.

We have a purchase agreement for our house to be bought. The buyer is using a rural development loan. What things should I be looking at on my house to make sure it is ok for this type of loan? My address is 4875 Glen St, Rapid City, SD. 57703. I am wondering about things like paint or a rail on the front step.

Help! We are a week away from our closing with a USDA/CHFA loan in CT. TODAY the loan lady called to say that the usda underwriters have said that the L1 visa my husband has is temporary and therefore not eligible! Our closing is scheduled for the 21st. We started this application in March. I am seeing on your website and USA direct's website that an L1 visa is ok? Please help...have spent over $2,000 at least so far. I can't believe they would tell us this 7 days before our closing. Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you
FYI: my husband has his EAD card from our initiated green card application process. We only have to interview at this point and they should grant it. However, I am a US born citizen (he is from India if that helps).

I am sorry JT, that this happening to you. It happens more times then not. I would suggest finding a lender in CT that is knowledgable about immigration visas. As many are not knowledable.

this is true as the land can not be worth more then the house in a situation like that.
