Baltimore Metro Area Real Estate Market watch for December 2010

By
Real Estate Agent with Ellicott City Clarksville Howard County Maryland Real Estate 535650
The December 2010 market in the Baltimore Metro Area was not a complete loss. Sales were slightly stronger in 2010 compared to 2009, but the first time home buyer credit had just been extended in 2009 and was not in full swing. Overall the attitude is optimistic, although personally I believe the impending increase in foreclosures that is inevitable for 2011 will severely effect the market statistics.

There is an huge increase in short sales and  foreclosures, but the time frames for settlement have decreased as we become more familiar with the process. If you are looking to purchase a home in the Metro Baltimore area and want to find a great deal on a distressed property. be sure that your agent has experience in this market. If not, you could be spinning your wheels for a very long time. Call me, e-mail me or text me (click on the icons below) if you would like a Realtor who does have experience. I have been selling short sales for almost 4 years before the word Short Sale became part of our general vocabulary. My very first short sale seller is now one of my buyers looking to purchase a new home.
