Greg Swann has an excellent post on the best cameras to use, but what I want to know is, what king of photo equiptment do you actually use. This could be for your blog, your listings, or whatever.

I'm not an agent, but for my blog, I use an Olympus C-740. It is a great camera for outdoor scenery, but pretty bad indoors. The lense is very narrow as well, to accomadate the 10X zoom. I would really like to get a new, cheap camera that shines when the light doesn't with a wide angle lense. All suggestions would be appreciated.

For software, I use Photshop Elements. It's the $100.00 version for consumers. I used to have the full boat version a few years back, and today's version of Elements actually seems like a step up. Does anyone here use gimp? What else?

Todd,

Here at Active Rain we have many large groups dedicated to just the questions you have been asking.  For this particular question you might want to check out the Photography group at http://activerain.com/groups/photography

Hi Laurie,

I realize that many of my questions will have been answered by others before. Asking them on my own will allow me to tie my Blog Fiesta site into this little experiment. Just like the dozens of top bloggers interviewed out there (yourself included), I'm going to feature a "Active Rain Interviewed" page that directs readers to this blog. How's that for something different? I'm going to use Active Rain in a way that drives readers to it, not away from it.

I do not have a high end digital camera. I have a "Sony something or other" that takes great photos. I also have the Kodak v705 with the dual lense for wide angle shots for real estate. It takes great pictures, especially small rooms, powder baths, etc. Exterior back yard views actually get "captured" where a tradition cameral without wide angle can't "get" it.

I use a Pentex Optio S7 with 7.0 megapixels.  It takes wonderful pictures for a camera only the size of a business card.  I am thinking about getting a second camera to take wide angle shots with.

I use an old Nikon Cool Pix 4100 and either MS Picture Manager or MS Digital Image Pro 10. However, my fave picture effects are inside MS Word 2007.

I am upgrading my camera to that EasyShare that has a wide angle lens. I have heard great things about it from many agents.

I'm not a fancy camera person.  For real estate I am thrilled with my little Kodak V705.  It is great for indoors. It is small enough to fit in my purse so I always have it with me.  When a truck full of pumpkins pulls up in front of my office, or a swan refuses to get out of the road on my way to work, I get the shot.

Right now I use MS Image Digital Pro but just bought Photoshop Elements to learn.

I recently dropped my camera on a shoot, it ended up in many pieces.  Had to run and buy another on the spot.  I now have a Kodak Z710.  It has been taking some great shots.  The 10X Zoom has been incredible for getting shots in and around the harbor that I otherwise would never have been able to get.  I can zero in on a great sailboat that is small in the distance, and get it large in the shot, and it comes out great.  Just wish it had a wide angle, will have to purchase a second camera for that.
