Tomorrow is my first Toastmasters speech for the Middle Keys Chapter of Toastmasters. I have never been afraid of public speaking, but have always wanted to be better at it. I have been flirting with the idea of becoming a Toastmaster ever since I had a taste of public speaking as the local President of the Women's Council of Realtors.
I wrote the speech today. You are supposed to talk about yourself and I had a difficult time trying to find something interesting about me. I settled on explaining my CRS designation what it means and what I had to do to get it.
I made it two 4 minutes. I just have to be sure not to speak to quickly, which is a horrid habit of mine. I broke a nail and can't get it fixed until after the 8:00 AM meeting. I'll just have to shine in other ways!
If your in the Upper Keys and want to attend a Toastmasters Meeting, they are held one Tuesday each month in the evening and one Tuesday each month in the morning. We are looking for more members. Tomorrows meeting is at Taster's Grill in Tavernier at 8:00 AM.
