There are a Bunch of Turkey's in New Port Richey Florida!!!
What did you think I meant?
Here are some wild turkeys I came across in Holiday Florida while I was checking up on one of my REO listings in the Riverside Estates subdivision by the Anclote River. Wild turkeys are not that uncommon in our area, but in the same token, you just don't see them every day. That's why I pulled off the road and watched them a bit.
All five of the turkeys I watched were Toms "Males". You can spot the males from a distance by their beards coming off their chest, kind of like a neck tie. Male turkeys also have large spurs on their legs, which they use to defend them selves against other Toms during mating season, similar to roosters.
I always enjoy seeing wildlife in our area, it reminds me of simpler times before this area was built up.
