Jack LaLane, RIP

By
Real Estate Agent with Success! Real Estate

It's Au Revoir  to Americas first (and best) physical fitness guru.  He brought exercise into our living rooms in the 1960's, and made us aware of how important it is to take care of ourselves. He has passed away at age 96.  While it has nothing to do with real estate, per se, how we look and feel is important in our line of work with the public.

If you've never heard of Jack, google his name and you will be amazed at his accomplishments.  He once said that dying young would be bad for his image.  He was 92 at the time.  In addition, he had a wry sense of humor that made the exercising more fun because there was no way you could keep up with him.  "Now don't try this at home," he would admonish the TV audience as he did one handed, finger tip push ups.   We didn't seem to have the childhood obesity problems back then, perhaps they will put him back on reruns.

I saw something about him a few months ago, and was shocked to discover he was still alive! Unfortunately, no longer.

Come on Dan... if you're going to give the fitness god a proper send off, you've gotta spell his name correctly.  ;-)

He was amazing, and really teaching so many things before their time!  Now so much of what was "new" is now standard in the fitness world!

Dan....he was the marketing legend, the franchiser.  He was awesome at what he did.  Really cool!   He wasn't robbed of life, that's for sure!

In the paper I read that at 16 he realized that sugar was bad for you ...can you imagine 16?

I remember watching him on television as a child.

He was a gentleman, too!

Yes, it watched the news with sadness, he was a great guy.  Wonder why he contracted pneumonia?

Margo- me too, then I saw him being interviewed by Neil Cavuto and his mind was as sharp as ever.

Jon - didn't think he was religious but it wouldn't surprise me

Dan - It seemed that way.

Pat - does anyone even come close to his standard?

Larry - he could market his stuff because he was living proof that it worked.

Robin - that was when they loaded everything up with sugar, too.

Mr. Novak, I'm going with Francois Henri LaLanne, or Jack for short?

Tony- whole families used to watch and see how long they could keep up.

Christine - I'm sure it will come out
