I am lucky enough to work at the Metro Broker office located in Marina Square in the Denver Tech Center. This is such a great office. The landlord and managing broker of record is Joe Bingham. Joe is one of those guys who genuinely cares about everyone. He has done so much for our office, it is truly a pleasure to work there.
Every Wednesday, we have an "Idea Sharing Meeting" where many of the agents come together to share ideas or talk about current issues. Joe is always the coach at these meetings asking about our business and what he can do to help. We often have guest speakers from many different real estate venues who present their services to us.
Last fall, Joe hosted a retreat for all who wanted to join at the Ameristar Hotel and Casino in Blackhawk, Colorado. This was a two day event chock full of motivational speakers and personal coaches. Day one was very productive and informative. Afterwards, we all enjoyed a happy hour and buffet dinner and then it was on to take a stab at Lady Luck. The next morning came bright and early with another full agenda as well as door prizes and continental breakfast. This was such a great bonding experience for the agents in our office and we actually learned very helpful things.
Many of the 114 agents in our office have been in the real estate business for 25+ years. It is so nice to know that we are surrounded by such knowledge and experience. They are always gracious about offering advice or just an ear to listen to our daily war stories.
Metro Brokers is a unique concept of "Independent Companies Working Together". We are all Metro Brokers, but we work for separate companies. It is a great way to own your own company and yet be part of a larger structure.
The staff at Marina Square is superior to any I have seen in the past. We always have two full time people at the front desk handling the phones, setting showings and greeting customers. In the lobby and conference rooms, Joe has installed flat screen TV's that continually loop through all of the listings in the office. Our clients love to come in our office and see their home displayed on the screen when they walk in. This is also a great idea for perspective buyers visiting our office.
There are private offices available for those who desire them, like myself and my business partner Will Hamm. Otherwise, agents can simply work from home and use the media room available to them at all times fully equipped with computers.
Once a month, our office manager, Carol Schell, puts on an incredible birthday lunch for all of the agents celebrating birthdays. She caters in the most delicious assortment of lunches and birthday cakes. There is never an empty seat in the house for one of Carol's birthday lunches.
I feel very lucky to be a part of such a professional, friendly group of Realtors!
