The earth must be spinning backwards …I had two great experiences with large banks today.

The world is spinning backwards!Today was an unusual one. I had two calls from two different large national banks that were not only surprising, they were downright helpful.

The first call was from a representative in a short-sale department that called ME with an updated status on one of my listings. I hadn’t even called her first, she just wanted me to know that we were on track and that the bank was hoping that we could continue to work together to accomplish our mutually beneficial task.

The second call was from another large bank where I have a credit card account. They noticed that I hadn’t made a payment this month, and since I had a perfect payment history, they called to see if it was a mistake. It was, and I paid them as we spoke, and they waived late fees and any interest penalties. They treated me like a valued customer!

Needless to say, I feel a lot better about these behemoth institutions than I did yesterday. In both cases I feel that they went the extra mile to offer genuine assistance.

And that make me feel a little more optimistic about any future dealings with them!

Richard - small victories add up to a winning attitude. Many turn out bigger than at the start. Cheers to your day

Well that was surely better than I got from one bank card.  I got the statement and right at the post office, sat in my car and sent the $5 payment, put a stamp on it, walked it into the P.O. and mailed it..  Notice I said $5?

About 2 weeks later, I got a telephone message that my payment was late.  I called them and asked what was up.  A sterile voice said I was late.  I paid the balance of slightly over $200 on the phone and never used the card again.

I know I made the payment.  They also charged me a late charge of $35.

I got a letter last week that, due to inactivity, my card was cancelled.  Not a problem folks.

Richard,

Wow, it really happened...I thought it was just a myth that banks cared.

Claude...

It did pick me up quite a bit ...thanks.

Bill...

I am trying to stay positive ... thanks!

Lenn...

That is EXACTLY the kind of treatment that I expected when the conversation started. When it ended, I felt that this is a bank that I will continue using.

So very clearly, one of our banks is smarter than the other. Thanks so much.

Wait! I must be reading Lou Loudwig's Motivation quote of the day as just read that TWO banks were helpful to the same person in one day.

I had a similiar experience when I was using a credit card while traveling extensively.  Because there were so many charges so far from home, they just wanted to make sure I was still in possession of the card.

This story almost brought me to tears Richard. As for the short sale that is good news news as a few of the banks are actually working to get the deals done.

Richard, it must have been the good feeling the banks were anticipating with the state of the union address from the guy that gave them all the money for screwing up. At least they gave you a call and just didn't send the state with charges

Wow, Katie bar the door.  I am indeed very surprised.  Hopefully they are realizing that we as agents might really be the solution to this mess.

Go buy a lottery ticket, rare occurrences such as those do not happen often .. rare in fact.  Maybe the saying good things happen to good people falls into place for you this day.
