Yep, you heard right. Despite the fact that we don't have any snow on the ground here in Coeur d'Alene, there is plenty of snow on the slopes. With 5 ski mountains all within a hour's drive or less, paradise is ready for all you avid skiers.

Mt. Spokane is one of my favorites for two reasons. First, it's a short 30 minute drive from Coeur d'Alene (and the easiest drive). Second, it's one of the less expensive hills and generally not as crowded as the other resorts. It also happens to be "the place" we went every weekend and any weeknight we could in high-school. Sentimental I guess!!

I've never skied 49 Degrees North, but plenty of people I know have and love it.
Illinois is flat, so if you want to go downhill you need to find a garbage landfill. Hard to break a leg. Thats the only way you are going to change your horizen. But we do have a very big lake which from time to time brings in the "Tall Ships."
