One of the best features of Las Cruces and southern New Mexico is the cuisine. Recently, I've written about restaurants that you may have never heard of, and popular places to eat. Today I want to talk about 3 great places for a date night.
For families, it's hard to find time to go out on a date. So when you finally find the time, and get the baby sitter, you better have a good plan in place. Here are 3 restaurants in Las Cruces that you can count on to fulfill your romantic dinner.
De La Vegas Pecan Grill
This is one of the newer restaurants in Las Cruces. It's menu is stacked with unique pecan wood-smoked specialties and classic dishes. Plus it has a great selection of wine and micro brews. I really enjoy their seafood. Specifically the Stuffed Dover Sole is great.
As with any date night, the ambiance is important. The staff at De La Vegas is pampering and the atmosphere is classy.
Double Eagle
The historic Double Eagle restaurant is one of the classiest dining experiences you can have in Las Cruces, NM or Southern NM in general. Their aged steaks are great. It has a great wine list and several award winning dishes. It's location in the Historic Mesilla Plaza makes turns diner into an event. Have a great meal and desert at the Double Eagle, and them take a short walk around the plaza enjoying the sights and sounds of Mesilla.
Lemongrass
Lemongrass is one of the southwest's best Thai food restaurants. The atmosphere and service is excellent, and if you enjoy Thai food, this is one of the best places to get it in Las Cruces. Their green chile egg roles take our local southwestern tradition and mix it with classic Thai style. The curry is excellent too.
