It's Awesome!
Now don't misunderstand me, I didn't pen a book, I'm talking about 'MY BOOK' an external memory device put out by Western Digital.
It's the size of a hard cover book and doesn't take up much room. The one I have is 320GB, the cost? Approximately $130.00. (Amazon.com price)
When my dad asked me what I wanted for my birthday I thought "I don't know?"
Then I thought of 'My Book'. When I told Dad about it, he didn't quite understand until I put it like this:
I have four flash drives with 1MB of free space each that cost 29.00 each, I'll fill up within 2 or 3 months. (or in 1 event)
One ‘My Book' with 320GB's of storage for $130.00, that I can fit all kinds of photos on, plus MP3s, Publisher files etc. Do the math..
If I put everything on ‘My Book' I free up space on my flash drives and can put the photos I want to take with me on them, instead of using them for storage and then I don't have to buy another flash drive.
I guess it made sense, ‘My Book' arrived on my birthday. That night I hooked 'My Book' up to my computer and moved my Publisher files, my MP3's and a couple months worth of photo's over to it, in doing that, I freed up 20% of the memory on my hard drive.
(Keep in mind I can take 50-350 photos in one day and only the blurry ones get deleted, 1 months worth of photos can be well over 1000)
For those of you that use Microsoft Publisher to make flyer's or other sales related items, (it is a great design program) the program itself takes up a lot of memory. The files you make & save from it are also memory hogs. If you save your publisher files to 'My Book' instead of your hard drive imagine the space you'll save. (Ever notice how long it takes to print a page you've made using MS Publisher? That's because the file is so large.) I'm one that hates to delete files that I've made, because I can go in and make something new using an old format and save it as a totally new file. It's sometimes easier then starting from scratch.
If your a photo or video, MS Publisher, MP3 hound, you will love 'My Book'. It takes seconds to hook up to your computer, just plug it in. Once it's hooked up, you just download your files right to the destination drive you have 'My Book' hooked up to.
And, you can hook it up to more then one computer if need be, say your desktop at home and your laptop if you need to take the information stored on 'My Book' with you, almost like a book sized flash drive.
