Contemplating a move for retirement, winter-visiting, or just relocating to a warmer climate?

I Got Here As Soon As I Could!

In the summer of 2009, AARP Magazine named Tucson Arizona #1 in its top ten best place to live a simple life. Criteria such as low cost of living, geographic diversity, walk-ability, low crime, & outdoor accessibility all played a factor in the selection.

Personally, I think being surrounded by mountain vistas and gorgeous sunsets can't help but to convince any short term visitor into making arrangements for something more permanent!  Add that to 300+ days of sunshine, golf courses everywhere, low-maintenance yard care, and friendly people -- and you've got a wonderful place to think about retiring to, having a vacation home, or just plain SWDesert relocation.

Here's a quick link to over 150 properties available at Active Adult communities around Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley and Vail, Arizona.

As I stopped for an intersection yesterday, I pulled up behind this car, and I thought it summed it up perfectly:

I'm happy to share this fair city with you.  Give us a look.  I look back on my last 11 years here, and am glad I got here as soon as I could!

It's hard to beat the weather in the winter- not so sure about the summer. It is beautiful though!

Call a Marana neighbor, I'm THERE!

Suzanne - I love Northern Texas with the trees - but it's been years!  It's on my list to see San Antonio by taking the passenger train across.

Kristi - Colorado Springs is certainly lovely as well!  But if you want to escape snow, Tucson is where it's at!

Glenn - I prefer the lack of humidty than other areas with lots of sun.  I'm just happy we don't have days over overcast skies and drizzle.  I don't miss that!  I DO miss Mt. Raineer!

That is great, Cara.  Just about sums it all up.  I shall just have to put "I will be there soon" on my car.

Hi Jane - just an 8 hour drive - with a lot less traffic!

Richard - thanks for your questions - I posted on some Phoenix-Tucson differences just this morning.  I've noticed that folks moving from East or West Coast find our taxes quite an improvement.  Those moving from the midwest - not so much.  Home prices are INCREDIBLE if you're looking to buy -- it's just a challenging time to sell if you purchased your home in the past 5 years.

GOOD MORNING CARA!  That's my mother-in-laws car!  NO I am only kidding - the car is but the plate isn't! I just read a report indicating that many people are packing up from California and moving to ... Tucson!  --G
