Dog slaughtering in China

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

I am totally beside myself. Just red on AOL news about Rabies outbreak in China and new "creative" means they are trying to employ to correct the problem. Now they are limiting one pet per household and ban breeds taller then 14 inches. So what do you do if you have 2 pets and they are taller then allowed. What do you do with the second pet, even if they are completely healty. This is just so sick, sick, sick!!! What's going to be next? Killing people because they are too sick, or too old...?

I understand that Rabies is dangerous, but I am sure they could come up with some more human way then this to fight the desease.

This picture was also on Internet and it makes me sick to my stomack... Time to throw up...

I am a big lover of animals and donate a portion of my commission to Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary and Hospital in Jupiter, so I take these things very personaly and it's hurting, like those pets are all my pets.

Is there anything we can do??? Well, it's in China, so we probably can't do a thing, but we can help our American Citizens Pets by donating whatever we can.

I will put here a link if anyone decides to send whatever you can $25, $50 or whatever you feel like. Your donations are Tax deductable. And I hope that Chinese disaster will never happen here.

Thanks to all!!!

Took my breath. I am stunned how horrific the "deed" needs to be- are they testing first or just killing off the population to "prevent "  ???
Sickening.

Apparently there was only 3% of registred pets vactinated. So I am guessing they doing it to prevent the outbrake. I just can't understand what does it take for a human being to want to punch and kick fallen down innocent animal, no matter what is the reason or the cause. There is no more kindness left in the world. Very sad and disappointing.

Natalia, You have no idea what the do to pets in China.  I have pictures that will make you lose sleep at night. The photo you have is graphic, but things are actually much worse there.

Remember, the people in  China suffered greatly, they went hungry for years.  Pets in China are not pets.  They are food.

Sorry.

BTW, rabies is more than dangerous...it's fatal and it's no picnic to get it.

In no way am I advocating the manner in which they are dealing with rabies. But going to China is like going back in time.  Unless you have been to a third world country, you just can't imagine how backward it is.

Yes, Kristal, I had an idea what it was like but it's seems like it is much worse then my worst nightmare. I've never been in third world countries, and you know, honestly, I don't even have a desire to go.

Natalia, We do treat our pets very well here.  My bicycle trip took us down the California Baja. There was a mother dog in Mexico who left her pups and RAN the whole day by our side, just because the cyclist had feed her.  Their attempt at being nice, only hurt a bunch of puppies.  I was amazed the dog kept up with us, a 100 miles in the hot sun.

As horrible as it seems sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone and visiting a place like that helps us have a deeper appreciation for what we have...

That's for sure. I am just too sensitive to the animal suffering if you will. If I was there with you I would probably just scuped up all of the puppies with the mother and took with me. However sometimes it's not possible. I have 2 doggies already and my hubby wouldn't be over the moon if I decided to make a pooche-zoo in our 2/2.
