Each year I travel down to Quartzite and Tucson for the gem and mineral shows. This is my time of the year to escape the snow and buy rock for our lapidary business. It is great fun and a whirlwind of excitement. You would have to be a rock nut to really understand.

This year a friend of mine who is an engineer invented a cabbing unit. A machine used to shape and polish gemstones. This year he decided to set up a booth at both Quartzite and Tucson in order to promote this new machine to the lapidary world. My pay it forward for this week was to sit at his machine making cabs for 3 days to demonstrate his new machine. It was wildly successful and I felt it was time well spent. If you are going to Tucson this year be sure to stop by the electric Park RV and see Terry Deals BMT (Better Mouse Trap) cabbing machines.
