If you haven't seen the movie (and I haven't found many who have) you won't understand. But I don't want to become a "Black Swan" of real estate. Don't get me wrong. I like being successful. I like helping people find the right house. I like living a prosperous life and I like sleeping at night with a clear conscious. But lately I've encountered too many agents who seem to be adopting the mantras of "A sale at any cost" or "They are adults. They should make better decisions" or "It's not my fault if they bought too much house" or, well you get the point.

No, I want to be a White Swan and be happy doing so. I want to always remember that to win at any cost is self destructive. And if I could have the body fat and dancing ability of Natalie Portman while doing so, it would be just that much better.

Funny how people can get in times of economic distress... we all need to be less judging and more loving of one another!  Thanks for being who you are, Billi!

Billi, I'm with you.  It's not whatever it takes.  The mean-spirited comments and attitudes of some agents is really startling.  I think agents can be successful and be the white swan at the same time.

Billi, I want to wear the while hat also, don't want to leave carcasses in my wake, just people who feel they have been treated the way I want to be treated.

The way I see it...Integrity, Character, Determination and Organization is what ultimately allows someone in any field to be successful in the long run.  I've seen too many examples of people who attempt to "cut corners" only to be put to a dead stop when "you know what" hits the fan because of their actions.

Gorgeous photo, Billi!  I agree with your attitude.  It's our business to run and we dictate the culture.  I'm in business to provide for my family, but also to help other families as well.

Beautiful bird! And I agree that sales at any cost is not the underpinnings of a true professional.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm looking forward to it.  That's too bad that agents are losing their compassion.  I think that our whole world is tired and we have all lost some perspective!

Billi...I've not seen the movie but do get the idea.  I think alot of people have the mentality that in desperate times people do desperate things.  I hope I never fall in that category.  I think the only way to make a lasting career in this business is to treat everyone with a good heart, wanting what's best for them.
