Limited Government And Free Enterprise - A Winning Formula
The phrase limited government scares some folks. They think we will become some kind of anarchist state with a small government. The low taxes that go along with it cause some to drool.
In Representative Paul Ryan's Republican response to the President's State of the Union message, he stressed free enterprise, initiative, and limited government.
In part he said "We believe a renewed commitment to limited government will unshackle our economy and create millions of new jobs and opportunities for all people of every background to succeed and prosper."
He went on to say "We need to reclaim our American system of limited government, low taxes, reasonable regulations, and sound money which has blessed us with unprecedented prosperity and has done more to help the poor than any other economic system ever designed. That's the real secret to job creation."
To me, the best line was this "Limited government and free enterprise have helped make America the greatest nation on earth."
So why do we need to mess with what has served us so well?
