What's your overused word?

Does your vocabulary need an overhaul?

Do you use the same words too often?  I do.  Everything is "Awesome".  And there are "Lots" of things around me.  Those are my two most overused words.  I am making a commitment right now to pay attention to the words I use.

My awesome incredible, brilliant nephew Jimmy, a college English professor, offers challenges a lot frequently that make all of us work harder on finding different ways to say things.

Today the word to watch is "Awesome".  So if you have lots of inventory and they all have lots of amenities and awesome views in awesome locations perhaps you might want to consider how boring and common that sounds since lots of awesome REALTORS are saying the same thing.

My daughter has forbidden the use of "duh" in her house since her two boys had gotten into the habit of using "duh" as the answer to everything.  Now they have to stop and think of different ways to express themselves.  They're 5 and 7.  They're learning, and we can too.  The English language is an awesome  incredible tool with lots of many options.  Think before you speak, (or write) and make your language stand out.

Suddenly I have "a variety of inventory in some incredible locations.  Some have breathtaking views and spectacular amenities." Use some new words today.  I dare you!

Awesome Incredible post. Good reblog as I sometimes use the same words and I need to get better at the vocabulary in my listings and blots.

I liked your post as it is a good reminder to read your own comment or post before you share it.  Not only for content but for spelling as well.  Sometimes my fingers get ahead of me and something is left out because my brain is working faster than my fingers, perhaps an unfinished thought, or there are some words that are misspelled.  Thanks for the post.

Hi Dawn -- Marian's post really resonated with me; too easy to become boring in our speech and written copy

Hi Mary - I keep thinking I should disable the auto-fill function -- sometime it guesses incorrect words and I don't catch them. But sometimes I just need to think of fresh ways to say something. Marian's post addressed that issue well, I thought. Glad you liked the re-blog
