It's a wonderful day in my neighborhood!

A wonderful day for a neighbor,

I need you to be,

I'd like you to be,

I'd LOVE you to be my new neeeeiiiighbor!

Hi kids!

Mr. Jay here!

It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood and I am so glad we can be together today!

Just like our last show, my neighborhood always surprises me!

I love living here!  I learn something new every day!

Do you like to learn new things?  Sure you do!  So do I!

Would you like to see what I learned just the other day?  Mr. Jay was disgusted!

Can you spell disgusted?     D-I-S-G-U-S-T-E-D     Very good!

Do you know what disgusted means boys and girls?  Disgusted means to be very upset and disappointed.

That's right!  Just like Mommy sometimes!

Mr. Jay was disgusted because he met somebody.

Mr. Jay met Flipper!  OK, you can spell it.    F-L-I-P-P-E-R    Very good!

Flipper had bought a house and he was fixing it up.  He wanted to sell it!  Mr. Jay saw him and stopped by.  He didn't know that Mr. Jay is also a home inspector!  Mr. Jay asked him lots of questions.  Flipper made Mr. Jay very upset.

Mr. Jay saw that Flipper was putting some plastic wrapping on the house.

But he hadn't removed some of the old siding.  It was synthetic stucco.  And there were holes in it!  When asked about it Flipper said, "Don't worry.  I am going to cover all that with siding and nobody will see it.  I have been doing this a long time!"  Flipper smiled.

Flipper had put in some new windows.

He put them in before framing around them.

And he didn't wrap the plastic wrap to seal the edges.

You shouldn't do that boys and girls!

Do you know what Flipper said about that?  Yep.  "I am going to cover it with siding and nobody will ever know!  I have been doing this a long time."  And he smiled again.

Mr. Jay saw lots of rotten wood around each of the windows.

And big holes!  He could see all the way inside!

And look, that is fiber board that the window is nailed to!  It isn't even framing!

Wow, boys and girls!  You shouldn't do that!

Barely able to hide his disgust, Mr. Jay asked about that too!

I bet you already know what Flipper said!

Go on boys and girls, what did he say?

"I am going to cover up those holes with siding and nobody will ever know!  I have been doing this a long time."

Very good boys and girls!  You deserve a special treat!  I'll give you some nuts later!

Mr. Jay looked up and saw the roof.  Flipper had put new shingles on the roof.

But there was rotten wood everywhere on the sides.

Those boards are called "fascia" boys and girls.  Isn't that a funny word?

Can you spell fascia?   F-A-S-C-I-A   Very good!

Flipper did not know that word because when Mr. Jay asked him about the "fascia" boards, he did not know where to look. Mr. Jay had to point up.

He said, "Oh, you mean those side boards?"

Yes, Mr. Jay did, and asked if the rotten wood was going to be replaced.

"No, I am going to cover it all with aluminum and it will look good as new!"

So Mr. Jay asked more.  "Won't that rotten wood keep rotting?"

Flipper had a ready answer!  "Well, it might.  But it will be covered and nobody will see it.  I have been doing this a long time!"  That time when he smiled, Mr. Jay saw a glint off his gold tooth!

Mr. Jay looked around back.

He saw some lights by the door.  The second light was not there before.  Flipper had added it, to the right side.

Can you see, boys and girls, how there is no hole in the wall and the wiring comes out of the light on the left?

That's not how you do that!  So Mr. Jay asked.

Flipper said, "I really want to do things right.  So I thought another light was important for safety.  But don't worry.  That wiring will be hidden behind some siding and nobody will see it.  And I don't think anyone will ever hit it with a nail.  I have been doing this a long time.

Mr. Jay actually coughed!

Boys and girls, Mr. Jay could show you lots more pictures!  And they were just outside.  Mr. Jay was AFRAID to go inside!  He doesn't like falling through floors! Well, you don't either, do you boys and girls?  Of course not!

Mr. Jay came back another time to take pictures!  He really hopes he gets to do a home inspection on this house!

Well, boys and girls, it's time for Mr. Jay to leave.

We sure have had fun today! Thanks for stopping by!

Do you want to come to Mr. Jay's neighborhood again? Sure you do!

Mr. Jay sure has fun in his neighborhood! A lot of home inspectors are very jealous that Mr. Jay has so much fun!!

Now listen to Mr. Jay, boys and girls!  Be very careful when you buy a home from a Flipper, because sometimes they really have been doing it a long time and know all the tricks for hiding things!  And beware the glint in the teeth...

That was hilarious......and pathetic all at the same time.  This reminds me so much of a house a buyer client was interested in last year, and the flipper was a real estate agent.  Many problems found during the inspection and then they half-assed the repairs the buyer required and they promised to fix.......didn't buy the house!
