On Tuesday, January 25th, Facebook announced that they will be rolling out a new advertising model called Sponsored Stories. When you click the "Like" button, you may be starring in an advertisement.
It is probably no surprise to the advertising world but it could be a shock for millions of users. If you write to a friend about a product or place you liked, used, or ate today, your words could show up in advertisements that your friends see. The ad will look like the other small ads that appear on the right side of the screen and may feature YOUR NAME if you "Liked" the product.
Gee, I wonder if the advertisers will pick up on negative comments "thumbs down" too - LOL
