More good news on the Austin job front as Cirrus Logic announced plans to add around 150 new jobs in Austin over the next 12 months. These 150 new jobs are in addition to the existing 350 Austin employees and will bring their local employment count up to around 500.
Most of the 150 new positions are chip engineer positions and most of these new positions will be located in Austin. Part of what is driving Cirrus' expansion is that they supply audio chips for use in some of Apple's mobile devices.
