Frisco TX celebrated its NCAA Football Championship Game Festivities

Back in the 1st week of January 2011, Frisco TX hosted its first NCAA Division I Football Championship Game. The NCAA Division I Football is not to be confused with the NCAA BCS Football as we are familiar with.

This year, the NCAA Division I Football Championship 2011 is a showdown between the Delaware Hens and Eastern Washington Eagles. The Eastern Washington Eagles came back down by 19 points by late 3rd Quarter to win the Championship Game 20-19.

The City of Frisco is honored to be chosen as the host city for the NCAA Division I Football game championship venue for the next three years (2011-2013).

Tailgate Town was a FREE event hosted on Gameday. Many Delaware Hens and Eastern Washington Eagles along with city of Frisco TX residents came to enjoy the event. Watch the video marking the pre-game festivities during Tailgate Town in Frisco TX.

That looked fun Loreena! You did an excellent job for being your own camera person to. Last I just have to say, The Hens and The Eagles... a game for the birds isn't it.

Luckily I am not a judge in this contest......if I was, you would win hands down!!! Eastern is my alma mater and I was on the edge of my seat the entire game. My roomates in college all played for Eastern and I still have one friend that coaches there. So this was a really big deal for us Eastern WA alums, since it was our first football championship!

Thank you for sharing some of the festivities that happened around the game :-)
