A Photo Tour of Northern Virginia
Every day shots of your surroundings can be very pleasing. Pam Stangler caught some great every day shots of our Northern Virginia area. I enjoyed them enough to want to share them.
There are so many interesting things to see around Northern Virginia and I like capturing those things on camera! A perfect day of sight seeing and antiquing in the country yields some great photos.
I thought I would share some of them with you, since today we have about 4-6" of snow on the ground. I choose to reminisce about days gone by when sightseeing and antiquing in the country were all I had to worry about.
If you like the art of negotiating, you should check out the Luckett's Spring Fair. It is a great place to find just about anything, no matter your taste in "junque". There really are some amazing vendors at this show. I participated in the 2009 Spring Fair with a friend and we had a great time, met so many great people, and spent our spoils among the vendors. We have signed up to do it again this year. It will be held at the end of May 2011.
The picture of this barn happened by accident. I was coming home from a field trip with my first-grader while on a bus going about 45 miles an hour when I saw this amazing barn. I stuck my camera out the window, and amazingly, this was what came out! I use this photo when I make photo cards for my friends, family and clients.
This bridge just caught my eye as I was driving by and I had to stop and take a picture. It seemed so out of place in the beautiful countryside, but yet just as beautiful. Must be the sky blue color!
While on a girls weekend to Bryce Mountain I drove by this fence (we were actually on this road that had garage sales FOR MILES, it was a picker's dream). I thought it was funny that you can put a license plate on anything in the country and call it your own.
The picture of the watering can with the star fish was just an amazing coincidence. I am a big gardener and have lived by the beach all my life. Starfish are some of my favorite reminders of the beach and the sea so when I found them sitting in the back of an antique store in Old Town Alexandria, I had to take the shot. I also use this photo when I make photo cards, and it hangs on my wall in my house.
A quaint little town called Aldie is a short distance between Haymarket/Gainesville and Leesburg, VA and boasts a quaint little store called Bella Villa. This shot is of the porch leading into the store. Just a little tease of what is inside!
So, I hope this gives you a wide range of visual enjoyment from the Northern Virginia area. Come visit us here, you may decide you want to stay! If you do, I would love to give you the tour!
Your housing needs are my priority!
