Fun in the sun?

Fun in the sun snow in New Milford CT!

The snow has been the topic of the week everywhere I go. Where to put it, how much more could we get, on and on. I don't remember dealing with this much snow at one time, ever. Tonight I saw a wall of snow in front of my daughters house about 6 feet high! (where is your camera when you need it?) And I have to say the town of New Milford is working hard to clean up the mess left behind. Despite all the issues that we are all dealing with, cleaning our mailboxes to ensure delivery, getting the roofs cleaned off, knocking down the icicles, shoveling, shoveling and more shoveling... some people know how to have fun with the white stuff piling up around our heads! I found this guy on the town green in New Milford, he was bringing smiles to all that drove by. Of course, only those driving up the east side of the green could see him because the snow is piled so high on the west side, the green is invisible to those driving by!

New Milford CT snowman

Notice the Christmas tree behind the snowman, they are all still up on the green, they are probably going to be there until about May or so.... at least they add a bit of color to the frozen, white tundra that used to be our town green! At least the lights on the trees have been disconnected, however the gazebo is still decorated and lit as well as all the street lamps. They shine bright like a beacon to remind us there is no way to get to them to shut off the switch!!!!

The beauty is overwhelming...today we got stuck on our street  in front of our house. Glad I had a shovel to dig around the tires. Had to go take more photos.

Your snowman brings a smile.

Andrea ~ This would be a great time to take a vacation, don't you think? It is so beautiful to watch when it is falling, but not when it begins to accumulate more than a few inches ~

Andrea, Oh my the memories that brings.  Our daughter who is based out of JFK has been home since the 20th; she has so been blessed in her traveling this year.  She leaves to go back on Monday and there's supposed to be clear skies.

Valerie, that it is! He is just in front of the gazebo... but how could you tell with all that snow piled up in front of the buildings? LOL, you must have the roof tops burned in your memory.... Did you live here?

Margaret, I tried all day to find a place to do a video or take photos, I COULDN'T FIND A PLACE TO PARK! But it is beautiful... and the snowman caused me to pull over and take a picture of him.

Frank & Karen, we have feet of the stuff here, and yes it is beautiful when it is falling.... but it is good for the earth, and if it didn't snow I would be missing it.

Marchel, I hope the skies are good to her! Maybe the sky will be blue, but the ground will be white white white, LOL.

Hard to think about snow anywhere for me. We've had a false spring, with temps in the mid to high 60s. Weird.

Andrea - even Utah is in a bit of a thaw, so we can feel sanctimonious about letting you have some of our snow for a change. Enjoy.

I tend to forget... when we are enjoying our sunny 70-80* days right now, that much of the country is still blanketed with snow.  At least you are able to build snow men with smiles!

Andrea,

I wanted to directly answer a question you left at my post. Nutsy, I am sorry to say, is currently stranded in Guatemala. He split off from my wife and I and ran out of money. We were in the process of putting funds together when Jay Markanich, home inspector, said not to worry about it that he would bail out Nutsy. As it is, he did not send Nutsy money but a bunch of clams that spoiled. So the little dear is still stuck down there and I am going to need help getting him back up here. That is a hassle I did not need right now.

Andrea are you sure that is a snowman, and not a snowwoman.  Of course it could have gender issues, so in that case it would be a snowperson :)

OK I think all this snow is getting to me :)

Andrea, we had a bit of a thaw yesterday and I could actually see some of the asphalt of the driveway. Maybe today will be more of the same.

Andrea,

We have had way too many storms this winter.  I am so ready for spring and green.  I do enjoy seeing the snow on the landscapes, though.  It looks so pretty.
