So this week I had something strange happen to me. I have a great listing and we received a fantastic offer on the property. It was accepted contingent on the sellers buyers buyer closing on their house. Always a risk, but it was one the sellers were willing to take. The day before we were to close Catastrophic failure occurred. The sellers buyer went on a shopping spree and killed their ability to close on the buyers home therefore killing the buyers ability to close on my sellers home.
Buyers dropped the price of their home $20,000 immediatly to get another buyer and cancelled their contingency. We hit the road and got people in and got news that another offer was on the way. After all of this my sellers said they were happy with me, with all the traffic they had, with the response when the contingency fell at how quickly we were able to get another agent with an interested buyer within days of the other offer falling through. But they felt like it was bad luck to use me again so they are firing me for finding a second buyer and going to do it themselves. They told me they will just contact the agent directly and let him handle both his buyer and them.
Seriously, I have done my job...not my fault that your buyers buyer did something stupid and crashed they loan, even the agent and the loan officer were blindsided by this. Sometimes you just can't fix stupid.
Anyhow, at the end of the day I have done my job and looks like the sellers will benefit from me doing my job by themselves.
Sometimes I just don't understand people.
