We Dig Dig Dig Dig Dig Dig in Connecticut the Whole Day Through . . .

While heading to an appointment today I ran across a sight that made me think of the Seven Dwarfs Digging in their Mine the Whole Day Through.  With the weight of all the snow on rooftops, it is imperative to get it off, especially if there is little or no slope to the roof.  These five workers were using shovels, wheelbarrows, and snow blowers to get as much as they could off of this shopping center in Wallingford.  I wanted to set my video to the Disney Dig Dig Dig song, but I didn't want any copyright issues.  So, just hum the tune as you watch the short video, and you will enjoy it more!

Hi Christopher - Warm enough to go to the beach?  You really know how to hurt a guy!

Hi Don - Is there any such thing as a "good" snow?  : )

I was thinking about you when I took this picture this afternoon.

The colors of winter in Kentlands. Life is good in Montgomery County, Maryland!

Wow Chris.  I just showed your video to my 17 year old snowboarding son.  He is VERY jealous, but I'm not.

Hi Roy - Oh, I was hoping that you did not have the icicle problems in Maryland that we have here in Connecticut!  Looks like I was wrong.  Wishing you warmer days soon!!

Hi Nancy - You are smart to not be jealous.  Send your son to Connecticut to help us clear these rooftops--he'll learn quickly how much fun it is NOT.  : )

Hi Robert - I guess the weight of the snow of the roof is worse than the weight of a snowblower with a person operating it.

Chris--I have heard of roofs collapsing, but I have never heard of crews going up on roofs to clear them.  Sounds very dangerous.  Even home inspectors will not venture up on snow covered roofs!

Hi Pat - I had never seen residential roofs being shoveled before this year--just commercial (mostly flat).  Lot of unusual things going on in Connecticut this winter!
