Picnik.com looks like a great place to enhance your photos & maybe even place stills within a video for more graphic appeal.
Thanks to Cindy Westfall for placing this item in our Agent's Toolbox!
Go take some pictures!
For all of those bloggers out there that don't know about Picnik.com, you're in for a treat. This free program allows you to not only make some cool headers, but to custom edit your photos..and it's VERY user friendly. I mean..if I can do it, anyone can!! Figure I'd pass along something that I use all the time.
The first picture is one that I took this morning. Yeah..I make it way too easy for my squirrels by giving them their own bird feeder..hey, they leave the main one alone now, so better for me AND the birds The're just too darn cute anyway.
Back to what I was saying...the picture is ok on it's own, but have you ever gone to upload a picture and it won't let you..chances are, your picture too big and needs to be resized. So I went over to picnik.com and uploaded my photo that I saved on my computer and started to play.
Now I've been able to add a frame, or in this case I added a frame that I can adjust the area for title of the picture. I can add stickers, text, and fun stuff.
They do have some premium stuff that you'd need to upgrade and pay for..but most of the good stuff is free.
I've also used this program for my header.
I still need to get in and make some more...maybe with other programs, but for now the one I used on here works for me. Another great way to use this program is for making your own graphics for your blog. I don't know about you, but I'm always having a hard time finding a copyright free graphic for my blog. Now I go to this site that I got from one of the many blogs read, save a graphic and add to it.
I just added my name badge to the woman...and the note with the pushpin has served me well for many posts as I was able to just add what I wanted inside. Not the prettiest graphic for sure..but it adds something I think. You can also make cool and custom cards from your photos and e-mail them, post to Twitter, Facebook..and lots of places as well.
If I was tech savvy enough to know how to copy sections from other sites and insert them nicely into this blog..I would do so, but I am far from there yet! I will just leave it up to this post that was written by Donna Bigda in February of 2009 (see..our post are still being looked at several years later). She really does a great job in this post showing you a step by step tutorial. It would take me quite a while to figure how to do this..so here's her post.
Head on over to picnik.com and check it out!
