Professional Photography, A MUST for Real Estate

By
Real Estate Agent

Statistics say that 93% of our consumers will start their search for a home on the Internet.  This will be your first impression, your largest audience!  I have been a Real Estate Associate Broker for 13 years and I am still  trying to figure out why there are pictures of bathrooms (where they show the toilet only), cats, dogs, birds, laundry, vacuum cleaners, or simply rooms that are "untidy" on any listing!  There are also listings with NO pictures at ALL!  Wow, in this day and age where we have a large majority of home seekers online, I find this hard to swallow! As you can see below, the pictures are worth their weight in gold - a "two-story entry foyer with spiral stair" sure looks better when you can see it! Remember the old saying, "a PICTUREis worth a THOUSAND words"

I completely agree with you. We have so many agents in our area that post pictures of just the outside or only put a few pictures in the MLS. Drives me crazy! Great picture!

Catherine I agree that professional photography is key. Twelve to fifteen high quality pictures are a must to make a buyer interested.

I do hire out the photos because I am not a good photographer. It is a must!

Could not agree more~ I love REALTOUR and use them every time. They send me hi-res photos for my print material too and I always get compliments- I did nothing but hire a good company! I will do it every time!

AMEN Sisiter! I could not agree more. And just because the house isn't $500k doesn't mean it does not deserve professional pics. But here was my challenge. Last week I listed a short sale, that needs A LOT of work!

I usually spend some money and get professional pictures and a professional virtual tour.We have a great company here in Nashville. HouseLens.com they charge $50 deposit and $125 at closing! If the hiuse doesn't close you don't have to pay! Great set up!

But for this listing I had my husband put together the pictures and virtual tour. Because no matter the pictures this house just looks rough! Ironically enough in less than a week this house has had 5 showing and I am expecting a contract on Monday!

I am always shocked when a see "bad" photos of a new listing....if I were the seller I'd insist on a pro coming to take the photos!!!
