I Work 24/7/365, and I'm trying to figure out how to work even More!

Real estate agents are not super human.  We have families.  Friends.  Pets.  Homes.  We like to sleep, eat and have down time.  Believe it or not, when we got our real estate licenses, we didn't vow to put all of this aside for our clients.  We did say we would look out for their best interests.  That doesn't mean we're on call.  Most real estate situations are not emergencies that require our immediate attention.  So realize that you are in good hands, even if you don't get right through on our "bat phones."  We've got your back.

I Work 24/7/365, and I'm trying to figure out how to work even More!

That's my new motto. From now on, I'll work 100% of every day. 24 hours - 1,440 minutes - 86,400 seconds. Every Day. Holidays, birthdays, you name it. I'm there for you.

I have a family. I have clients. I even have friends (which, until now, I was going to try to keep in touch a little more. read about that here)

I'm pushing them all to the side.

I want to be there for YOU.

You call me, I'll pick up the phone. Every time.

Send me an email. I'll get back to you within seconds.

Text me. I'll respond before you can put your phone down.

Even Think about me, your phone will ring, and my helpful, cheery voice will be there to take care of your every need.

Stressed at Work

Isn't that what you want?

You want your real estate agent to drop what they're doing, no matter what it is, and be there for YOU. At your beck and call. Like a personal servant?

No problem. I'm in. I'll give up golf, watching The Apprentice and helping my children with their homework. Just for YOU.

*pause*

Okay, I can't go on any longer. This is ridiculous.

Like you, I have a life. I have a family that means more to me than anything. I have friends. I have hobbies. I also need a little time to relax. And seriously, I can't give up eating. I like eating.

What I will promise is that I'll be here for you. I do what needs to be done. I return calls, emails and texts. And believe it or not, I've read a mind or two. It's pretty cool.

Let me know, up front, what you expect of me. I'll meet or exceed your expectations. If I can't, I'll let you know.

And for any client, or potential client, that truly thinks I should be available 24/7/365, let me help you find another agent. I know a few that'll drop what their doing and ask "how high?" when you tell them to jump.

Have a great day,

Eric...

LOL This 24/7/365 is ridiculous. My clients can always reach me. I don't have clients that are up 24/7 - my clients have lives too. We communicate in a timely manner. We're reasonable people who know what timely is.

Hi Chris Ann - Great re-blog. And I love your comment about people calling on your "bat phone" - funny note - thanks!

Maria:  I hope you understood that this was a joke.  And a reblog.

Judy:  Doesn't a cell phone feel like a bat phone sometimes?

The key to your real estate needs!

Funny, I just had this conversation yesterday with a client.  She said I know you have a life, but it seems like your always working.

Shawna:  I instituted a phone policy two years ago that still works like a charm.  I do not answer my cell phone after 6pm.  Clients are respectful and wait till morning, or in the event of an actual emergency (truly rare occurences) they call my home number which I gladly give them.

Chris Ann, thanks for re-blogging. It's great to see that someone else "gets it".

That says it all!  Oddly enough, I rarely have this problem with my borrowers.  The ones that I have the most trouble with not working 24/7/365 is Realtors and/or agents.  They're the ones that seem to think I should be working whenever they are and that I had better answer my phone whatever time or day they call whether it be 9pm on a Saturday night or 8am Sunday morning.
