Living in a small city, you may not think about the quality of health care available. You may think you have to travel to larger metropolitan areas for top quality care or surgery. Yesterday, I spent several hours at Virginia Baptist Hospital while my mom had day surgery. I couldn't stop thinking about how fortunate we are to have two excellent hospitals with first class doctors and treatment right here in Lynchburg.
Lynchburg General is home to the Stroobants Heart Center, a top tier facility. From their website:
At the Stroobants Heart Center, our average time for getting a clogged artery open is just 71 minutes - 43 minutes faster than the national average. How? Through greater cooperation with emergency crews and more streamlined ER procedures. And the speed of our cardiac specialists getting to the bedside is second to none. It all adds up to saving precious minutes when they count the most.

Good Evening Debbie,
Nothing like having someone you love in a hospital to make you appreciate it, right? You are very fortunate, indeed to have excellent health care facilities. I hope your Mom is doing well.
