HOUSTON MARATHON 2011 ~ RECAP!
Early this morning thousands of runners converged on the George R Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. Even though the impending rain threatened to postpone or cancel the race, the runners were there and ready to run rain or shine.
It was misty, hot and muggy for the first 3 miles and when the light rain started falling the temperatures cooled off. It was actually very nice as the rain was light and steady. It was a bit slippery so everyone had to be extra cautious.
The thunderstorms that were predicted, miraculously skirted around Houston.
It was a great day and I just love the energy out on the course. So many inspiring stories of why people run.
Here is a stat I found about me that I am most proud of. I was running to finish but according to these stats, I kicked some booty at the end. Finish strong was my motto.
Over the final 3.8 miles You passed 574 runners and 31 passed you. Modern technology!
