Writing a POST Can Be Easy and Fun ~ Just Follow These 5 Simple Steps

By
Real Estate Agent with Realty ONE Group Mountain Desert

Your Lake Arrowhead Realtor would like to share some local Lake Arrowhead Information with you.

This will be short and sweet because I know no one wants to "read a book" here in ActiveRain.

People (mostly other Realtors) are always asking me how, and what, to write about post here inwriting ActiveRain (and other blogging platforms). Many will say, "Oh, I can't write, " and I say, "Well, you don't have to be a writer to write. You just need to figure out what you want to share with other people (Realtors or potential clients)."  Then, do this:

  1. Pick your topic: Real Estate, Recipes, How To's, whatever you want. (I pretty much stick to local items to help  buyers/sellers who may be looking to purchase or list a home in my area: R.E Market Reports, Places to visit, Things to do.  I try and put on my buyer/seller shoes; what are THEY looking for on the information highway?
  2. Write it (and they will come); You may want to write it in Microsoft Word or whatever program you normally use, then copy and paste it here in ActiveRain.
  3. Proof it: We are humans and make boo boo's, so go over your post several times. Let it sit a few hours to simmer, then come back and see if you've missed anything: SPELLING & GRAMMAR are normally things we miss when we're in a hurry.
  4. Add a picture if you wish: People like "eye candy." Most of us are visual. But don't over do it.
  5. Hit the POST IT ENTRY!

Now was that so hard?  Not really.

Hang in there, keep writing posting and you'll be an expert in no time. And more importantly, HAVE FUN!

When proofreading my articles before posting them I am always amazed by the number of corrections that I have to make even after using spell check.  It's easy to get in a hurry and send a posting out before taking the time to actually read through and proof your material.  With some material I like to give to another person to read and proof, as it's harder for me as the author to see mistakes that jump out to another person.

Richard;  It IS a great idea to let someone else proof read for you, if you can find someone.  And yes, when we get in a hurry, we are twice as likely to make boo boos.  Thanks for commenting.
