Wednesday is Groundhog Day

Here in Pennsylvania, especially in Punxsutawney, we really celebrate Ground Hog Day. You can even win lottery money with a Groundhog scratch off ticket.

I look forward to watching the movie with Bill Murray for laughs and eating popcorn beside the fire because I'll probably need to sit down after spending a good part of my day shoveling snow. Yes, we're expecting more snow and/or sleeting rain Tuesday into Wednesday.

Punxsutawney Phil better stay inside his hole with a BIG bowl of popcorn.

Looking forward to the SuperBowl this Sunday to take my mind off the fact I have to stock up on Advil before the next storm hits.

Ground Hog Keep warm, Phil. See you in the Spring.

Hi Suzanne,

Sounds like a great way for Phil to spend the day, anyway. Hope you don't have to do too much shoveling!

John - Probably less shoveling than you have had to do so far in New England. That is where I come from, with the emphasis on FROM (the winters).

Suzanne, according to the tradition, if Phil sees his shadow and returns to his hole, he will predict six more weeks of winter. If Phil does not see his shadow, he will predict an early spring. What happens when Phil is snowed in and can't get out of his hole?

Ted - Then next year we may be waiting on Punxsutawney Paul to see his shadow!

Suzanne, this year was the first in many that I missed "Groundhog Day"...great movie.  Here is the Bed And Breakfast Royal Victorian Manor filmed in the movie where Bill Murray electrocuted himself...in my home town of Woodstock Illinois.
