Q: Do I need to get a home inspection before putting my house on the market?

A: Although it is not mandatory to have an inspection done before listing your home. I recommend you do so. It will give you the opportunity to find and repair any problems that the inspector finds before it goes on the market. Net worth can be established and thus provide negotiating power when an offer is received. A inspection report will also greatly assist you when filling out Property Condition Disclousure Statements. So when you do place your property on the market, you can supply the Property Condition Disclosure Report and whole house inspection report.
Often times when the Disclosures are not thoroughly completed, the buyer may feel unwarned of adverse conditions and the possibility of court action could happen.
