8 Comments on Biltmore Estate Tour Leaves a Lasting Imprint on The Soul
Having grown up in Greenville SC, I went to the Biltmore often as a child....The Grace Kelley movie The Swan was filmed there. Portions of the last Lecter movie was filmed there and I've read several books that had portions of the "ACTION" there.
The HISTORY of the estate is fascinating!

Yes the history is incredible and George Vanderbilt was a very interesting person, I could have wrote a lot more, saving it for an other article. Just an awesome place.
I have always wanted to go visit the Biltmore. But your post just made me feel as if I was there. Great job and great pics. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Karen, I do reckomend that you also make the trip, I am looking forward to going back, there is so much to see and each season the place changes so much. Have a great day..

Thank you Tom!
Thank you Mirela, have a great and blessed day... It is a great place to visit I am going back again...
My first visit to Biltmore was in the Fall of 2010. I have since been given a yearly pass and have visited three additional times and plan to go again in a couple of weeks. My Father was raised in the NC mountains, and I suppose I have inherited a love of the area.
I find the history of the family fascinating; also, have just finished watching two movies filmed there. The first movie I enjoyed was "Being There" and the second was "The Swan". I'm curious to know what parts of the house were used in "The Swan". I don't recognize many of the areas and wonder if they may be the batchelor's quarters that are not opened to the pubic at this time, but were used as a residence by the family after Mr. Vanderbilt died.
I found it very sad to know that Cornelius divorced her husband and returned to live in Europe after a few short years of marriage. But I'm so thankful that the Cecil children and grandchildren have restored the home to much of its original glory and are sharing it with the general public.
Thank you for sharing your blog; we need Real estate Professionals to share their comments and information regarding their markets and experiences. Thanks again from beautiful Sunny San Diego
