Here is a unique chance to own the 8+ acres estate "Washington Well Farm", and with it become part of the American history .The story of this home starts in 1753, when Joost Dureya bought 260 acres of land and made it his homestead. He lived in the home with his two wives and his son, Simon, who served in the Revolutionary War. Following the custom of the early settlers the family burial plot is in the back of the property. Surviving to this day in addition to the main house are the barn, an English carriage house, an out -kitchen and the famous Well.

Washington Well Farm
The estate's notoriety and it's present name come from the well across the road, situated on a 2.3 acres of land. The legend has it that the Continental Army was passing by on a very hot summer day. The soldiers were so thirsty that they drank the well dry.

Today the main house is a gracious home with 8 fireplaces, 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2  bathrooms and all the modern amenities. There is also a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom beautiful legal apartment with a separate entrance.

Gorgeous grounds, pool, pool house with a kitchen and fireplace, many other outbuildings - the only way to do justice to this home is to see it.

Faina- How much is this listing? It is gorgeous! All that land, and oh my, the history! I love history and old houses. This is so great! You need to do a Real Estate Show with this listing. We do not have anything older than 30 years in Wellington. Even in West Palm Beach the historic areas are like 100 years. You have great history there in New Jersey. Katerina

Katerina - the estate is $1.8mln and it's 3 properties: the main house -on 5+ acres, a charming 3 bedroom cape - on a separate 1 acre, and a 2.3 acres lot. It can be purchased in many configurations and it's truly unique. I did not write all of this on AR - I thought it could be informational overload. Do you think I should? If you guys come to NJ, I will be happy to show you how cool the place is.

Barbara - thanks for checking it out. It's really a very cool place, though it's very old. It is only a few minutes away from a private airport, so one can be in New York in less than 15 minutes.
