Jupiter Island homes for sale: Greg Norman still asking $ 65 million

By
Real Estate Agent with Jupiter homes for sale, Palm Beach Gardens homes for sale,

Jupiter Island homes for sale are some of the most spectacular in the country, maybe the world.  It has long been a quiet enclave of old money who needed a sub-tropical hideaway where they could just be themselves.

Lately the Island has seen its share of publicity with Tiger Woods, Celine Dion and Alan Jackson moving onto the Island.  Before they arrived though, Lee Trevino and Greg Norman were already there.  Trevino moved on, but Norman is still here and his home is still on the market after nearly 3 years.

Now Jupiter Island real estate is very special and Norman owns perhaps the choicest piece of land up there.  His property was once owned by the Reed family that developed the Island so they had their pick of any spot to build and chose this one.  His property starts on the beach at the Atlantic Ocean where he has a beach house.  He almost lost it in a storm several years ago but got a local architect to come in and fix the problem.  He also got fined for dumping rocks there to keep the waves away until the problem could be fixed.

He used to live in Lost Tree Village along with Jack Nicklaus and Jack Welch.  But he hopped up the coast and picked up this house in 1991 for $ 4.9 million.

When domestic trouble erupted, he put the house on the market for $ 65 million, then dropped it to $ 47.5 million, before returning it to its current price.  Now, I know he may have added a few upgrades, but going from $5 million to $ 65 million seems to be pushing the envelope some.
