Yes it is official:  Mrs. Obama made the announcement that the 2012 Democratic National Convention with be hosted in the QC.. Queen City - Charlotte NC.  This is sure to bring lots of excitement and boost to the economy.  Mayor Anthony Fox says it is going to be expensive getting the city ready for the convention.  It is speculated that the Convention will cost $40 to $50 million.  Donations are expected to start coming in to fund this large convention that will most certainly put Charlotte on the map.

Of course Charlotte is one of the fastest growing cities in the south.  Known for it's southern hospitality, Charlotte has some of the finest restaurants around.  It is certain that the influx of people both before and during the convention will enjoy some of the finest cuisine in the country while experiencing the charm and style that only Charlotte can provide.

This diverse community is has some of the finest museums in the country and is even home to the NASCAR Hall of Fame Museum, Levine Museum of the New South, The Mint Museum and much more.  Charlotte's Uptown features the Epicenter which is home to Whiskey River, Strike City Bowling Ally, Howl and the Moon Deuling Piano Bar, Black Fin, The Epicenter Theater(a great place to have a beer, wings and catch a movie..sorry you must be an adult to enter) and Black Fin Restaurant just to name a few.  The Epicenter is just across the street from the Bobcats Arena and is sure to see lots of business.

Charlotte is ready for the challenge and will be a gracious host for the DNC.

Good for you guys. I think anyone would be happy right now to find ways to boost their $$$ amount coming in their community. It is also nice that; for a change, it is not in a "usual city" like NY or LA. It will be nice too, for the viewers (like me) to discover your place!

Might cost money to the city but it will bring in tourists during and after!
