Well, I've never blogged before in my life - so bear with me if there are any gaffes or faux pauxs!
I'll always try and be brief and to the point - and today I just want to mention some of the GREAT things that are going on in Michigan:
1. There are still 100% financing programs available. I can't count the number of times that I see people (inaccurately) say "Oh, you have to have a down payment now." It's simply not true. As of today's date I can still do zero down programs with Washington Mutual, Bank of America, and Charter One - anywhere in the state! InterFirst also offers 100% in most Michigan counties.
2. It is a phenomenal buyer's market. There are of course two sides to every story - but for every seller who is pained at the amount that they can get for their home - there is a buyer who's getting a great deal.
3. The shakeout in the mortgage and real estate industries have helped to clean out some folks who weren't necessarily both competent and dedicated to their customer's best interests.
4. Interest rates are still awfully low. There are lots of solid options for all types of buyers - way lower than the rates that existed when I took out my first FHA loan at 14%!
So let each one of us shake off the doldrums and remember how great we have it. Plus, in my experience the "other side of the coin" is always heading towards us, so if there are difficulties today there are likely blessings on the way!
