Tucson weather: Mike in Tucson, AZ mortgage lender

Okay, so it does get cold sometimes here in sunny Tucson, AZ.  We're just not used to it.  Last night, I put a queen sized fitted sheet over our Key Lime tree, ran a power cord out to it, and plugged in a 60 watt light bulb to keep my prized possession from freezing to death!

I know that you folks in Chicago and Kansas City don't feel too bad for me, though...

Good morning Mike,

I hope the fitted sheet fit the tree and the light bulb did its job.  Would you like some of this snow to go with the cool temps?

Back in New Mexico, they've gotten about 3-4 inches of the white stuff.  I'm thinking I moved west just in time!

I love how you have a Key Lime tree in Tuscon & the state of FL took all of ours out when the 'blight' of citrus canker was the threat! I was so upset cause that little tree bore the best fruit!  Keep a light on it...and stay warm. we're freezing here in TX too.

Karen,

I saw that DFW had ice on the runway and conditions were deteriorating yesterday, and naturally I thought of you and Teral in Plano, and my friends Dick and Olivia on the ranch in Caddo, OK.  At least it's dry and sunny today in Tucson.  :)

Em,

Aren't you blessed?!

Mike, We are having that embarressing weather also.  I just wrote a post on cold facts for plants; half of my yard is covered with blankets.

Hi Mike,

Yikes, I had no idea it gets that cold there. Hope your lime tree makes it (got a fairly new one myself). Guess I need to read Marchel's post.  We've cooled off a bit too here in SoCal, mid 60's today. Supposed to get a little warmer this week-end.

As for those folks in the mid-west & east, they're a hearty bunch!

Unbelievable after the post of the beautiful skyline I would think you all never have cold weather. Hope the tree is okay!

It was so cold here that even my feet couldn't warm up.  I was showing lakeside properties in Sun City this morning at 8am; I was freezing.  How do people in Chicago or New York live and work in the cold?  Give me the heat any day, I'll take that 110 degree weather, just bring it on!
