Eye Opening Scripture in Proverbs

Wonderful scripture to share.  I am often really put off my Christians who do come across as holier than Thou.  It is a turnoff to the world.  God is the only one who truly knows our hearts and motives.  Each of us must come before Him with open hearts.

Doesn't another translation say " We can always prove we are right,but is the LORD convinced ?"

Our readers need to remember the difference between living under The Law and living under grace.  When Proverbs was written, we were living under Law.  Praise be to God that we are now living under Grace and when The Lord weighs our spirits, they are washed by the blood of The Lamb if we are born again.

Thanks for sharing such a great verse and it is good to have a friend who shares the word of God and reads the Bible with his family.

We truly have to stay humble. Many times we think we are so "holy" or we only have "small sins" and we have to remember that God is the one who ultimately judges us. Thanks for sharing! 

If was up to our own goodness, we still would not be able to save ourselves. Our goodness is as filthy rags, and won't earn us even a piece of heaven. We must be washed by the blood of Jesus, by freely accepting his gift of grace.

We learned in the Old Testement what happens when we do what is right in our own eyes..... YIKES!
