I am not a generation Y (age)  girl myself, but completely agree with the fact that there are some people better communicated with by technology (texting). 

I am very quick to reply to text messages. My thought is that texts are something of great importance and maybe even "good news" because of the delivery method.

Hey Mr. Tech Savvy Agent - I LOVE You!  

I am a fun loving, hard working generation Y kind of gal.  I appreciate and love all of today's technology.  Generation Y is your youngster in their 20s.  You'll find we are always on the go, love to balance our work & play, embrace & encourage change and are more casual than your typical professionals.

One of my new found favorite uses for technology text messaging.  I'm starting to find myself using it more with fellow agents when setting up showing requests and getting feedback.  Email is wonderful and phone calls are okay, but text is almost instant response.  It's easy because you can do it while doing other things without interrupting anything or anyone.  It's not time consuming, it's not tedious and it cuts out some of the unimportant small talk.  Yes, there is a time and a place where you will need to have a full blown conversation, but I feel we really waste too much time on conversations that have nothing to do with anything today during our business hours.  

Try this, write out what you do and who you talk to in a typical day.  Go over those conversations and how long you spent on the phone to complete your task.  I bet you'll find lots of prospecting and blogging minutes that you invested in talking about the snow rather than real estate.  If you want to blurb about the weather or what you had for dinner, try Facebook.  

This is a major reason I work from my home office and not from a physical office.  Chit chat is hard for me to avoid so when agents start texting with me for appointments and business, I really appreciate it.  I mean business and I've got a lot to get done in these short days so this is why I LOVE You Mr. Tech Savvy Agent!
